The Classic geometry of this little table, a round top over a triangular shelf or stretcher assembly, supported by three legs, is given a sculpted, organic form employing traditional carving techniques not seen since the great masters of Art Nouveau. The upturned lip on the edge and the flowing connection of legs and top recall lily pads or sensuous leaves. The deep carving where the legs flow into the triangular stretcher remind us of the human ankle. Altogether, it is a modern conceptualization of Classic ideas of form and function, balance and proportion, and a harmony of the material (wood) with its basic geometry.
